Apples, and Pears, and Figs, Oh my!

There are many things we love about living in Sonoma County.
But one of the very best things is the amazing community we have surrounding us.
One amazing person in this community is our sweet friend, Rosie. Not only is she just a good person, she's a kick-ass mama and she is always thinking of others.
The last two autumns Rosie has offered up the bounty of fruit trees to many families in town. And we are lucky enough to be one of those families.

(Don't mind my 80's hair.)

This beautiful warm day was back in September. From these fruits I made pear sauce, apple bread, and apple pies.
We froze half of all we made, so we are still enjoying this autumn haul.

We didn't get any picture of the trees, but we also picked a bag full of figs and enjoyed them fresh for days.

So grateful for this place we call home and the friends we share it with.

Exploratorium

One of our favorite things to do as a family is take the ferry over to SF. From there we go exploring on the Piers. A few weeks ago we happened to pick a day that the Exploratorium was having one of their free admission days! Lena loved it. And we loved following her around. Watching how she interacts with the world makes my heart sing.

These pictures of her and the goldfish checking each other out make me giggle every time.

There is so much to see and do here. I feel like we have only checked out a small fraction of it.
All the more reason to go back again soon!
