Sunday

We have been so busy this past week. Life. Appointments, meetings, dinners, parties. All good things. Sunday we finally took a few moments to be a family together.
We went to visit a very dear friend. My grandfathers best friend. And the land that we lived on as newly weds. Before Lena became a part of our lives. It is always fun to go back and show her and where we spent so much time.

This is where we lived for three years.

We said hello to the horses and then went up the hill to visit Val. He was busy grating parmesan, like Italians do.

Lena loved every second of running around, finding toys and climbing stairs.
Skyler and Val loved talking about wood work and the shop.
And I loved being with the ones I love.
After we said our goodbyes we went to the sweetest first Birthday party.
It was good Sunday filled with smiling faces.

My Bit of Earth

We don't have much garden space at our current home. And that's making it sound generous. We have about 1'x20'. It has always been mostly full of weeds, until a few weeks ago.
We finally started working on our little bit of earth. It's far from done, but there is progress.
A couple times a week we pull weeds and plant a couple seeds and flowers. Lena loved every second of it.This is how far we have come.

We found a cocoon. Which has since hatched into a larger moth and been released. We played in the dirt, splashed in the water, and tried to remember NOT water flowers with rocks.
We all learn with time and patience.
So many adventures when we are outside discovering together!

Spring Time Weekend

The clocks changed today and even though Spring is nearly two weeks away it feels like it has already arrived.
These past couple days were hard. Lena and I were both sick. Which lead to me getting more sick, Skyler missing work and then working extra, and Lena being clingy and crabby. But our Saturday was sweet and quiet. Filled with Rodger and Hammerstein and homemade chicken soup. And now it's already Sunday again. And we are all together, all feeling better.

After a slow morning and warm breakfast we drove the country roads to one of my favorite neighboring towns.
We visited Skyler's brother, a few friends, a skate park, and a perfect little farmers market filled with all sorts of sights and sounds.

Not too many pictures from the market today, because, as you can see, we were too busy stuffing our faces with treats.
Then we came home and went for a little river side bike ride.
The river is so beautiful this time of year. Still full from the rain, but no longer brown. There were Spring flowers and birds everywhere.

We are home now. Resting, listening to Lena chatter in her bed. It has been a beautiful day.
