This is a Good Place to Start

I have had this blog for a long time now. Years. Before the baby was born in 2013, before I was married in 2011. Now the baby has passed her first tooth, her first word, her first step, and it is almost her First Birthday! And here my blog has sat. Untouched, unloved. I started this blog because: 1. I like to read blogs. 2. I want a place to share my photographs and keep my memories. 3. I want that baby of mine (really not a baby anymore, so I should just call her Ms. Lena Bean) to find this blog one day and be able to see the adventures and love that we created together. I want to be able to look back at the start of my Motherhood and remember all that we did, all the feelings we shared, and all of the good times we made.
Today was one of those good days. A sweet and slow Sunday. A good place to start.

Waking up after the sun is the best way to wake-up at our house.

Brunch made with vegetables from our friends at Foggy River Farm.

Ms. Lena Bean's favorite morning treat: Blue Berry and Coconut smoothie.

This is the Lena-approved-face.

And then things got really serious..
We had a Blueberry Mustache Competition.

And of course, the always-winning:

Ms. Lena Bean!
(Can you see how the smoothie ring goes all the way around and to her forehead!? Cutest. And those big front teeth. I die.)

Slow, sweet Sunday's are the way to go. We did finally leave the house. After naps and what felt like hours of reading little animal books, we went to a perfect Pumpkin Patch a couple towns away. Lena was in love. The hundreds of "balls" or as the rest of us call them: pumpkins, being outside, the sun flowers, all of the other kids running around her, and the CORN PIT! We had the best time. Lena was so happy. Then we did our weekly grocery shopping and headed home. Later we rode our bikes to Nini's house and had dinner with her and Grandpa. I am so thankful for these days we have together. My heart is full.

  1. A great day to start. Love the memories you are making for Lena Bean; she is surrounded by love, and it shows.
