Saturday was misty and beautiful so our family of three piled into our warm car and headed off for a little adventure. We weren't quite sure where we were headed.
All we knew is that we were going to spend the day together; smelling the rain touch the earth and playing in the trees.
We drove all the way to Gualala. Visited friends and spent a lot of time outside, just like we wanted. Lena fell a lot since it was so wet and slippery, but she also learned a lot too.
How to walk softly, how to pick up pine cones carefully so they prick you, how to crush and smell pine needles, and how to pick yourself back up after you fall.
This is our winter. Wet ground, wind with teeth, foggy mornings. Learning as we go.
I've always loved what seasons are offered to us here. Now I get to watch Lena love them too. Every day, every moment holding a little wonder and magic.
