Saturday Morning

This morning we woke early. Not before the sun or the roosters, but early for us. For a Saturday.
It was the kind of morning where the sun is clear and bright, but the fog still lingers. Clinging to the earth and the river. Offering shows of white light and silhouetted trees.
After snuggles and a cartoon in bed we decided it was the perfect time for a drive to Jimtown. For warm breakfast and best friend visits.

Love this family moment. I asked Lena for a kiss and she gave me a quick push away. It gives my heart a tiny bitty break, but at the same time fills me with wonder seeing her make her own choices and decisions in life. Just wish she'd be a bit sweeter about it...
(and best friend photo cred!)

On our way home we had to stop and take the obligatory Sonoma County mustard field photos. Yellow flowers have always been my favorite. Any kind really. And an entire of field of happy yellow flowers, alive with the buzz of honey bees - my heart could sing!

I think Lena liked all of the happy yellow flowers too. At first she was not sure about us walking into a field that grew taller than herself, but she was ready to go as soon as she realized you pushed aside the plants to walk. We giggled, looked, awed, smelled and listened. It seemed to have its own heart beat with all the busy bees working away. It's own magical world that let us in for just a moment. Our sweet Saturday morning.
